Many lifetimes ago, a small kingdom famous for its abundant agriculture and long rivers was ruled by a wise king. The kingdom’s majestic mountains protected it from foreign enemies, and this geography, together with the king’s fair policies, allowed its citizens to thrive and prosper. One day, an obviously stubborn group of the kingdom’s senators brought him the terrible news that a massive army of locusts was spreading across the neighboring lands and would take at most a week to reach theirs. The senators opined that a distress call should be sent so that people could harvest what they could before the locusts turned their lands arid and lifeless…..
